The leaves are changing, the temperatures are dropping and every coffee shop has a pumpkin spice special on the menu. October is here and with it comes a multitude of fall activities. Among the harvest parties and hayrides, few things say October like a good old-fashioned trip to the pumpkin patch.

With so many pumpkin patches available not far from Burnsville, the team at Luther Burnsville Hyundai has compiled a list of local pumpkin patches for you to take the kids (and kids at heart) to celebrate this festive season.

Afton Apple Orchard

This orchard may have apple in its name, but Afton Apple Orchard has much more to offer. Overlooking the St. Croix Valley, Afton Apple Orchard grows a variety of pumpkins, has a corn maze, petting zoo and a plethora of baked goods for sale. Pumpkins are available starting September 26th through the end of October.

McDougall’s Apple Junction

Another apple orchard turned pumpkin patch, McDougall’s Apple Junction is home to 6 acres of pumpkin patches filled with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Enjoy the day picking pumpkins with your own wagon or pull an Amish wagon to bring your pumpkins back from the patch. The McDougall’s also have pre-picked pumpkins for with those who might not be able to venture to the patch. Pumpkins are available starting September 26th. Rumor has it, the McDougall’s are saying this is their best crop in years.

Offering straight from the patch picking or the option purchase pre-picked crop, Peter’s Pumpkins is a great place to find your perfect pumpkin. Visitors can also choose from a number of other pre-picked fruits and veggies to purchase. Now offering free hayrides, Peter’s Pumpkins is open for pumpkin picking everyday now through the end of October. Be sure to bring cash for your visit as Peter’s Pumpkins does not accept credit cards.
